In 2013, we took the CRH train from Guangzhou to Beijing via Changsha and Wuhan. The journey of 2300 km from the South to the North took 8 hours and ended on time. We witnessed no natural wonders and lots of farms, heavy industry and construction sites. What the windows showed was far from romantic, but very close to the real, modern China.
