Seoul Layover Plan
December 21, 2010 3:44 pm Leave your thoughtsYou can have a great 10-hour walk through downtown Seoul. The airport bus can drop you off at Seoul Station. From there, walk about 20 minutes east to the Namsan cable car and enjoy the panoramic views from N Seoul Tower.
Descend northeast through Myeong-dong and you’ll reach Seoul Plaza in front of City Hall. To the west of the square, check out the smaller palace, Deoksugung. Continue north along the main boulevard and you’ll arrive at the grand palace, Gyeongbokgung. From there, head southeast to the tourist district of Insadong, then climb up the hill to the northeast to explore traditional hanok houses and take in another great city view.
On the other side of the hill lies Hyehwa, a lively university district where you can catch a bus back to Incheon (the ride takes about an hour).
There’s plenty more to see, but these 8 km are more than enough for one day — enjoy!
