here are a few impressions from only 10 minutes with the new fireworks:

1. vertical alignment

2. system 8 style aliased font?

3. weird checkbox

4. terrible font preview

5. aliased 10-years-old icons

6. this dialog box doesn’t accept the enter key

  • Although I totally agree with all your points, it’s important to remember that most of the updates to FW in CS5 was about system stability and efficiency. CS4 was a joke and the worst experience, this new version has been more stable and efficient, however nothing much on the front end has been improved or done well (as per your points). 🙂

Hello, I know and I totally understand. This issue is very interesting to me, because some very esteemed designers are using FW while the corporation Adobe is driven by marketing bullet-points and doesn’t care about basic things like UI consistency. I just wish the alternatives like Pixelmator mature fast and in 2-3 years there will be new designers without CS.
